MINDFUL MARRIAGE: Basic IFS and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Couples

This unique course is centered on the foundational idea that conflict with a partner is best resolved by first “getting a hold of yourself,” then communicating with skill.

Most relationship interventions focus only on effective communication and so-called attachment repair between you and your partner. Mindful Marriage teaches that attachment repair is bound to fail unless you can differentiate between and fundamentally accept your own protective states and your vulnerable states.  This powerful skill is called the You-Turn.

The You-Turn can radically alter the trajectory of negative cycles of conflict, and prevent major ruptures in the first place. The purpose of the Mindful Marriage course is to prepare you for, practice, and find success using the You-Turn. 

Using concepts from the state-of-the-art theory of trauma healing known as IFS (Internal Family Systems Therapy), and basic Mindfulness-Based-Stress-Reduction (MBSR), Keith Miller creates a safe and welcoming group learning atmosphere during this 7-Week live class.

His first book, Love Under Repair: How to Save Your Marriage and Survive Couples Therapywon the Reader’s Favorite Award for non-fiction in 2015. He is the host of The Soul of Life podcast and has spoken across U.S. on the subject of interpersonal neurobiology, mindfulness, and stress-reduction for couples. He lives in Maryland with his wife of 20 years, and two children.
